About us Designed for kids to navigate with or without a parent¡¯s help, Packard¡¯s Kids Connection is playfully animated, available in English or Spanish and closed-captioned. The site was developed by a team of Packard Children¡¯s experts in Child Life and Recreation Therapy, members of the Family Advisory Council, the News and Communications team, and pediatric nurses, doctors, therapists and many other staff members. ¡°The new Web site lets kids know that Packard Children¡¯s is a friendly place, that people here are aware of their concerns and prepared to address them,¡± says Debby Monzack, CCLS, a child life specialist at Packard Children¡¯s. ¡°Most importantly,¡± she adds, ¡°the site lets kids know what to expect. This makes kids feel more confident, and gives them a feeling of greater control over an unknown and possibly threatening experience.¡± Activities like the doctor¡¯s kit matching game help familiarize children with the most common medical equipment they may see during their hospital visit.
